Sammy the Sea Serpent for Atari 8-bit, 1981. Excellent text-mode story telling for kids, with minor interaction. Runs both data and audio from the cassette at the same time, according to atarimuseum.

Back to Nature by Bob Carr, 1982. This is the C64-version of the game that he released for the PET in 1980.

Receipt Racer by Undef & Joshua Noble, 2011. Using a Playstation gamepad, the user controls a car that is projected on to the paper coming out of the receipt printer.

Dwarf Fortress by Zach and Tarn Adams of Bay 12 games, 2006. Part roguelike, part city-building freeware game presented code page 437 ANSI. Also see Wikipedia.

As of 2024, the game is still being updated.

Screenshots from Ultima Ratio Regum, a roguelike game by Mark R. Johnson under construction. It has an interesting aesthetics, mashing up ANSI, ASCII and trixels. The text characters used are inspired by many ancient written languages.
