Get ready for The Berlin ‘leg’ of the International Teletext Art Festival. Five of my most tacky submissions will be appearing on German teletext in the coming few weeks, so if you’re in the vicinity of Bavaria, check it out. Our Roberto is still confused about all this teletext stuff, though…

FatFonts Player by Santiago Ortiz lets you change animated patterns in realtime. The patterns are created with FatFonts that make higher numbers more bold. An unusual approach in the ASCII-world, also made by for example Jurriaan Schrofer.

Oh no, more gabber! Following up the previous post, here is more Gabbeh carpets by Behruz Studio. You can see how Gabbeh shares a lot with textmode, compared to other Persian carpet styles that are more like pixel-based pattern art.

Interactive, brower-based WebGL-powered text-mode view of Google Streetview panoramas. Available in colour and green-terminal modes:

Real-time Ascii Art conversion of Google Street View panorama’s done in WebGL.

You’ll need Chrome, Firefox 8+, or another browser that supports CORS WebGL textures.

Coded by @peter_nitsch. Inspired by Sol’sTextFX library. Built with @thespite’sGoogle Street View Panorama library, and three.js.

In the Beginning by Scott Partridge for Megafauna, 2012. Depicts an Australopithecus skull made of the first chapter of Genesis. The background is comprised of various aspects of creation. A large version can be seen here
