A video of a TRS80 performing audiovisual synthesis some 30 years ago. It’s hard to tell due to the delightfully modern compression, but it seems to be mostly textmode.

Pinky was a hobbyist Minitel micro server, 1986-1992. It received around 30,000 calls. It ran on Atari ST and Telestrat.

Typerformance (1983)

HAL3100, an electronic RTTY terminal from ca 1980. These machines are sometimes called RATTs. According to Wikipedia, the primary users of RTTY today are diplomats and miliatires, since it is such a robust technology. Let’s hope they still use this HAL-model!
