Topaz Unicode by Screwtape, 2024. Adds a rich set of Unicode characters to the default Amiga 500 font, and offers it as a TTF-font. New characters include

  • all the Windows Glyph List 4 characters, including Cyrillic, Greek, and the MS-DOS CP437 symbols
  • everything in the Box Drawing Unicode block
  • everything in the Block Elements Unicode block
  • a lot of things in the Symbols for Legacy Computing Unicode block
  • anything else that caught my eye or seemed useful

The font is available as TTF at GitLab.

Ian Parberry’s experiments with coloured ASCII in high (text) resolutions. One image uses 3 colours, and the other 4. Made in 2011.

Another experiment by Parberry in 2012.

Three-color ASCII Art gives you the option of rearranging the order of the CMY triples to give an embedded texture that is only visible at middle distances. The texture disappears when viewed from long distances. Once again, click on the images for a larger version.

More examples are available here. Parberry has made lots of experiments with colours and resolutions in ASCII-conversions. He also made typewriter art in the 1970s, as previously posted.

Poésie de mots inconnus is a book from 1949 made by Ilia Zdanevich (aka ILIAZD) after he moved to France from Georgia. It features Russian and Italian futurists, German dadaists, surrealists, and people from other avant-garde movements (Picasso, Braque, Matisse, Miró, Magnelli, etc). It was a reaction against lettrism, which ILIAZD saw as mediocre mimicry.

Poems by Akinsemoyin, Albert-Birot, Arp, Artaud, Audiberti, Ball, Beauduin, Bryen, Dermée, Hausmann, Huidobro, Iliazd, Jolas, Khlébnikov, Krutchonykh, Picasso, Poplavsky, Schwitters, Seuphor, Téréntiev, Tzara.

Decorated by Arp, Braque, Bryen, Chagall, Dominguez, Férat, Giacometti, Gleizes, Hausmann, Laurens, Léger, Magnelli, Masson, Matisse, Metzinger, Miró, Picasso, Survage, Taeuber-Arp, Tytgat, Villon, Wols, Ribemont- Dessaignes.
